3,3'-Dicarboxylic diphenyl disulfide is an aromatic disulfide bearing two carboxylic acid groups meta to the –S–S– bridge. It is essentially odourless, stable under ambient conditions, sparingly soluble in cold water and hot methanol, freely soluble in DMSO and aqueous alkali, and practically insoluble in non-polar solvents .
