Functions as a chain-transfer/click cross-linker in high-refractive-index (nD ≈ 1.68) OLED coatings and RAFT polymerisations. Forms defect-reduced SAMs on Au/Ag surfaces for biosensor chips and MEMS anti-stiction layers. Approved flavour enhancer (EFSA) providing meat/onion notes at 0.5 ppb threshold. Manufacturable by continuous-flow NaSH route with 98 % yield and <5 ppm metals, meeting electronic-grade demands.
